In collaboration with Technical Retail Services LTD, Sarens delivered specialised lifting and installation solutions to enhance the shopping experience for Co-Op customers and support the chain’s growth initiatives.

With over 2,400 stores nationwide, Co-Op is Britain’s seventh-largest supermarket chain and holds approximately a quarter of the quick commerce market volume. The Co-Op refurbishment program goes beyond visual upgrades, introducing features that benefit local communities. These include cash withdrawal dispensers and dedicated plastic recycling areas, which align with Co-Op’s commitment to reinvesting profits for the benefit of users and cooperative members. By partnering with Sarens, Co-Op is ensuring these enhancements are implemented seamlessly across its stores.

Sarens was tasked with managing the lifting and installation of new equipment at various locations as part of this extensive renovation program.

Each refurbishment project was unique, requiring Sarens to demonstrate adaptability and precision. The team deployed cranes with lifting capacities ranging from 50 to 500 tonnes, supported by skates and jacks to maneuver heavy loads as needed. Depending on the project’s scale, a technical crew of four to ten professionals ensured operations are carried out safely and efficiently.

Sarens’ ability to relocate equipment efficiently between sites was a key factor in meeting the program’s diverse needs. Our meticulous planning and expertise ensured minimal disruption to store operations while prioritising the safety of personnel, equipment, and the surrounding environment.
