Grove cranes support major projects in Egypt
08 July 2025

Egypt has bolstered its infrastructure and agricultural capabilities with the delivery of its first 60-tonne Grove GMK3060L-1 all-terrain cranes and several 30-tonne Grove RT530E-2 rough-terrain cranes. Supplied through Manitowoc’s regional partner Orascom Services in May 2025, the cranes are already playing vital roles in high-profile projects nationwide.

The GMK3060L-1 cranes are at work on a major refinery in northeastern Cairo, handling tasks such as installing oil pumps and pipelines. Their compact size, strong lifting capacity, and features like MAXbase outriggers and spark arrestor exhaust systems make them ideal for tight, complex industrial environments.
Meanwhile, the RT530E-2 rough-terrain cranes have been deployed to Upper Egypt, supporting a large-scale agricultural initiative to transform arid land into farmland. These cranes are crucial for installing irrigation systems and water pumps, designed to perform reliably even in remote, challenging conditions.
“We are proud to see Orascom Services and Manitowoc supporting strategic development initiatives across Egypt,” said Eng. Ahmed Marey, commercial director, Orascom Services. “From the energy sector to agriculture, these deployments show how Grove technology rises to meet the specific challenges of each project.”
