Rental Units expands Liebherr fleet
05 May 2012
Russian company Rental Units has ordered three more Liebherr cranes, a year after completing a similar order with the manufacturer.
The young rental firm is investing in an LTM 1100-4.2, an LTM 1130-5.1, and an LTM 1200-5.1, telescopic wheeled mobile cranes. Rental Units received three machines of the same type a year before.
The company has been happy with their performance, according to Ivan Alexandrov, Rental Units managing director. "The LTM 1100-4.2 has a long boom, and is a powerful four-axle unit with compact dimensions. That makes it ideal for use on construction sites with restricted spatial conditions.
"The LTM 1130-5.1 is a high-capacity machine, which is really impressive in the taxi crane role, with its excellent economy of performance. The 200 tonner combines optimum lifting values with a long boom and that means it can cover a huge range of operations," Alexandrov remarked.
Rental Units is based in Saint Petersburg, and was established in 2006 with just one LTM 1100-5.1 mobile crane. Today, the firm employs more than 100 people, and owns a 30-unit crane fleet, 70% of which are Liebherrs.
Further fleet expansion is planned with the purchase of 20 mobile and crawler cranes earmarked for 2013 and 2014.
