Enerpac launches lifter for small spaces

The 40 tonne capacity (on four legs) ML40 Mini Lift hydraulic telescopic gantry lifting system is new from Enerpac. It is designed to help install machinery and equipment in the often restricted space of a factory or other industrial plant.
Portability was a key design requirement as was simple set up, and ease of use. Typical customers will be machinery movers, plant relocation services and medical equipment installers, The manufacturer said.
Compact dimensions were also vital, allowing the ML40 to be used to move equipment around old installations. Its collapsed height is 1.97 metres and it is just 750 mm wide. Most freight elevators should accommodate it, Enerpac said. Its extended height is 5.5 metres and each leg weight 1,350 kg, including its hydraulic oil.
Another feature is its ability to up-end a load to help its passage through a building. Its low headroom requirement helps when unloading from a truck indoors and when assembling something tall under a roof. Machinery can be assembled from smaller components and when complete the ML40 can also move that into position.
Its synchronised lifting function is a help when moving and installing delicate loads, for example, medical equipment in hospitals.
Power is from a standard single phase 115 or 230 V AC supply. Control is via a wireless pendant to keep the operator away from equipment during operation. It runs on a standard 610 mm (2 foot) gauge track but can also be used without, depending on floor and ground conditions.
