Net sales at crane and aerial work platform manufacturer Tadano were JPY 349,477 million (US$ 2.264 billion) in the full year 2025, up 20 per cent on the JPY 291,500 million ($ 1.887 million) a year earlier.

EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, etc) was JPY 28,513 million ($185 million) or 8.2 %, down from JPY 30,675 million ($199 million) or 10.5 % in 2024.

Looking just at the mobile crane segment net sales were up by JPY 7.8 million ($50.5 million) to JPY 207.1 billion ($1.342 billion). By geography the manufacturer reported solid sales in North America and the Middle East but declines in Europe and Japan.

The contribution from the acquisition of Manitex and PM added JPY 21 billion ($136 million) over the previous year.

Aerial work platform net sales in 2025 were JPY 30 billion ($194 million), up by almost a quarter from JPY 24.2 billion ($157 million) in 2024.

Looking ahead

Tadano’s forecast for net sales in 2026 is for them to reach JPY 400 billion ($2.591 billion), up 14.5 % on 2025. It expects an increase in EBITDA of 22.8 % to 8.8 %, up from 8.2 %. The forecast JPY 6.4 billion ($41.5 million) increase in operating profit is a result of higher sales volume and improved selling prices, in addition to the absence of temporary merger and acquisition expenses.

By equipment type sales increases are forecast to be led by mobile cranes, up by 16.8 % (to $1.567 billion), followed by truck loader cranes, up 11.1 % (to $291 million) and then aerial work platforms by 9.8 % (to $214 million).

By geography the manufacturer forecasts for 2026 net sales include double digit increases in Europe, North America, Asia, Oceania and Japan. Declines are forecast in Middle East and Latin America. The sum total of everywhere else is expected to be up 10.7 % to JPY 3 billion ($19.4 million).
