ALL Erection & Crane Rental, from Ohio, US, celebrates its Bauma 2013 crane purchases with membe

ALL Erection & Crane Rental has purchased 30 new Manitowoc and Grove cranes to add to its national fleet spread across 34 branches.

According to Michael L. Liptak, president of ALL, crane use is at the highest level he’s seen in years, which prompted the purchasing decision.

“We choose Manitowoc because it builds great cranes,” Liptak explained. “Manitowoc Crane Care professionals are also a huge plus. They understand and love cranes, and provide excellent and timely support.”

The 30-crane deal includes 10 Manitowoc 2250 crawler cranes with five luffing jibs, 10 Grove RT650E rough-terrain cranes and 10 Grove RT540E rough-terrain cranes. The majority of the new units will be sent to the company’s headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio, to meet spiking demand.

A surge in power and energy projects has fuelled the demand for mid-range crawlers like the Manitowoc 2250, which is a mainstay in ALL’s crawler fleet. The crane has a 300-ton (270-tonne) capacity and features a 330 ft (100 m) main boom. Also part of the deal were five luffing jibs that add 70 ft to 160 ft (21 m to 48 m) of length to the cranes’ booms, providing extra reach for tall lifts.

The Grove RT650E has a 50-ton (45-tonne) capacity and a four-section, full-power boom that reaches to 105 ft (32 m). The 40-ton (36-tonne) capacity Grove RT540E offers a four-section, full-power 102 ft (31 m) boom.
