Bladt chooses Cometto transporters

Different transport solutions from three equipment ranges fulfilled specific needs for Bladt Industries in Denmark.
Bladt manufactures foundations, transition pieces and substations for offshore wind projects. Environmental awareness and sustainability are key to Bladt’s operating philosophy.
To meet its latest range of disparate needs Bladt chose the Cometto Eco1000 transport module, MSPE heavy duty self propelled modular transporter (SPMT), and ETL industrial transporters.
Two units of the two-axle Eco1000 will be used for in-plant moves in limited space. Each has a payload of 84.5 tonnes and an integrated power pack under the deck between the axles. “In this specific case at Bladt Industries, the circular seam cutters are positioned with millimetre precision at the welding point of the monopiles with the help of the Eco1000,” said Joachim Kolb, Cometto sales manager.
Maximum capability
Bladt added 32 axle lines of MSPE, with a payload of more than 1,400 tonnes, to allow the company to handle the heaviest jobs. The SPMT units have two driver platforms, a kit to couple them side-by-side and options for open-compound configurations. A remote diagnostic system was installed on both power packs. This equipment allows all necessary movements to be made in the monopile manufacturing process.
Each of the two ETL industrial transporters can carry 120 tonnes. Customised features of the five-axle units are their platform dimensions and the position of the driver’s cab under the load floor. Another option on these units is the ability to hydraulically couple them back to back to transport 31 metre-long sheet metal plates. The plates are used to produce pipe up to 9.80 metres in diameter.
In addition to driving these two vehicles together via one radio control, there is a driver’s cab at the front of each, used over longer distance transports. The cabs have a suspension system to improve operator comfort.
