The IC-280-A is the first Broderson product that includes telematics as standard equipment.

Broderson Manufacturing has introduced the new 20-ton capacity IC-280-A industrial carry deck crane that features a 64-foot 5 inch (19,6m) four-section, full power boom; a compact boom head; and a 20-foot boom extension that offsets at 0, 15, and 30 degrees. The maximum sheave height with the boom extension is 88 feet 9 inches (27m). A 2-speed hoist with 12,500-pound bare drum line pull with a maximum line speed of 186 feet per minute maintains hook speed when multi-part reeving is used on the crane. All hydraulic functions are controlled through precise and reliable direct operated hydraulic controls, the company said.

The IC-280-A is the first Broderson product that includes telematics as standard equipment. The telematics system allows owners to access location, operating hours, utilization, engine and maintenance information through both online and mobile platforms.

Broderson has added a third (mid-extension) position to the out-and-down outriggers that were designed to enable more setup flexibility and better utilization of the crane capacity in tight workspaces. Removable 11-inch diameter nylon outrigger shoes are standard and 20-inch diameter shoes are optional when a lower outrigger ground bearing pressure is needed.

Engine option include the Cummins 120HP QSF

The new Broderson IC-280-A carry deck crane has a capacity of 20 tons.

3.8, US EPA Tier 4F diesel or GM 5.7L V8 LPG. A global diesel engine option will be available in 2021. Four-wheel steer/2-wheel drive (4x2) is the standard drive configuration and four-wheel drive/four-wheel steer (4x4) is optional. The engine coupled with a 4-speed powershift transmission provides superior travel performance: maximum travel speed of 18 mph, maximum drawbar pull of 18,100 lbs, and maximum calculated gradeability of 64%.

Broderson said an extensive list of optional equipment is available for this crane, including non-marking tires, auxiliary chassis-mounted 10,000-pound line pull winch, front and rear pintle hooks, lighting packages with work lights and strobe lights, searcher hook, and a 3-color RCL light bar.

“The new IC-280-A incorporates multiple performance enhancing features that set it apart from the competition and increase its utility on the jobsite and in the fleet.,” Broderson said.
