Trailer maker Broshuis and truck manufacturer Scania have cooperated on a deal to supply the Danish Armed Forces.
Broshuis will supply 15 of its Heavy Equipment Trailers (HET) to transport Leopard main battle tanks. Deliveries are scheduled for 2026. Truck maker Scania placed the order with Broshuis on behalf of the Danish Armed Forces. Scania is supplying tractor units.
The Danish Armed Forces already has more than 45 defence trailers supplied by Broshuis working across the Army, Air Force, and Navy, including eight axle semi-low loaders of the type in the latest order.
Versatile capability
Broshuis developed its HET to transport heavy military vehicles. It can carry 85 tonnes which can be increased to 90 tonnes when coupled to a heavier tractor unit. Loading deck height is only 900 mm.
Designed for use on- and off-road, its 600 mm suspension stroke helps with the latter. Hydraulic compensation on the gooseneck and on the axles is to help achieve continuous wheel contact with the ground. Its auxiliary steering and automatic wheel alignment enhance manoeuvrability.
“We are proud the Danish Armed Forces have once again chosen Broshuis as their trusted partner. This follow-on order is a significant endorsement of the quality, reliability, and performance of the defence trailers supplied by Broshuis in Denmark,” said Richard Jansen, Broshuis general manager, defence programmes.
