Cadman Cranes receives B Corp certification

UK-based Cadman Cranes has reported that it has achieved B Corporation (B Corp) certification.

The awarding of the certification, verified by B Lab, recognises that Cadman has reached required standards for social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.

B Corp certification is a legally-binding commitment to consider the impact of every business decision on its people, communities, customers and the environment, while also delivering long-term value for shareholders.

Cadman puts forward that B Corp is still relatively rare across construction, plant hire and heavy industry. In the related release, the company noted that it hopes more companies in these areas will look to achieve certification.

“This is a fantastic achievement for Cadman, one we have worked really hard for and one we are really proud of,” said Matt Waddington, MD at Cadman Cranes.

“We were looking for some formal recognition of the good work we were doing and B Corp was the only choice. It looks at every part of your business, but it changes the way you think along the way. We’re the first crane company in the world to reach this milestone, but there’s no reason we should be the last, and we encourage everyone to get involved.”

About 10,700 businesses around the world have achieved B Corp certification, with 2,700 of those located in the UK.
