Centurion Group acquires Trand

Centurion Group, a global provider of specialized rental equipment and infrastructure services, has acquired crane rental company Trand, based in Sawyer, Kansas, USA.

Trand is a family-owned business specializing in complex lifting operations for the onshore wind industry.

Trand is a full service crane rental company specializing in wind energy maintenance and industrial services.

The acquisition strengthens Centurion’s push into the domestic onshore wind market, building on Trand’s track record serving wind-related lifting operations, the company said. It also complements Centurion’s Minnesota-based subsidiary Althoff Crane Service, supporting Centurion’s regional growth and aftermarket operations overall. Terms were not disclosed.

Trand’s expertise will allow Centurion to take on larger and more complex projects in the Midwest, said Euan Leask, chief executive.

“We are delighted to welcome Trand into Centurion and look forward to working with the team to deliver the next phase of the company’s growth,” Leask said.

Trand president Andrea Patterson (Arnett) will stay in her position of leadership to assure continuity for customers and employees, according to news reports. 

Terry and Sandra Arnett founded the company in 1990 and have announced their retirement after more than 30 years of ownership.
