Denzai and Vestas sign partnership MOU

Lifting, transport and construction engineering company Denzai and wind turbine manufacturer Vestas signed a memorandum of understanding to work together.

Denzai KK from Japan and Vestas Wind Systems in Denmark signed the MoU on 9 March. Both companies “will pursue business opportunities to provide engineering services including heavy lifting, crane placement planning, crane services, and wind power construction,” the company said.

The high profile signing took place at Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), in the presence of Kenji Yamada, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. In attendance were representatives from METI, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the Government of Denmark, Fukuoka Prefecture, the City of Kitakyushu, Hokkaido, the City of Muroran, Akita Prefecture, the City of Akita, and the GX Promotion Organization.

Wind energy experience

Much of Denzai’s crane and transport work is to develop offshore wind power in Japan and the company said it will further dedicate its efforts to help achieve its government’s carbon neutrality goals.

Commenting on the move Kohki Uemura, Denzai president and CEO, said, “By collaborating with Vestas, one of the world’s largest wind turbine manufacturers, we hope to help strengthen the competitiveness of offshore wind power projects in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region and contribute to project optimisation.”

For his part Masahiro Yoshida, Denzai executive vice president and CSO, said, “We are honoured to further develop our partnership with Vestas. As a company specializing in heavy machinery and logistics, Denzai will strongly support the sustainable growth of the wind power industry in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region.”
