Turkish crane and heavy lifting specialist Doğu Kurtarma Vinç bridges a capacity gap in its fleet with the addition of a new 300 tonne wheeled mobile telescopic crane.

Its new Liebherr LTM 1300-6.4 sits neatly between existing 220 and 500 tonne capacity units in the fleet. Operational flexibility is improved, the company said, especially on jobs where lifts need to made at great height.

To that end it has a 90 metre main boom. Typical applications for Doğu Kurtarma range from tower crane and antennae mast installations to wind turbine maintenance. It also plans to use the new crane in heavy industry, shipbuilding and on energy and other infrastructure jobs.

Quick and safe

Commenting on his choice of new crane the company owner Mehmet Önal, said, “The compact design, robust undercarriage construction and efficient rigging logistics of the six axle mobile crane help to implement projects more quickly and safely in a growing urban environment such as Istanbul.”

For additional safety, the new crane has a camera system mounted on the end of the jib, Önal added.

As indicated by the .4 in its nomenclature this is the latest generation model (successor to the LTM 1300-6.3) and it has the new LICCON3 Liebherr crane control system.

Doğu Kurtarma Vinç was started in Malatya in 1980 and now operates throughout Turkey. It has a fleet of 20 cranes, including seven Liebherr telescopic mobiles.
