USA-based trailer manufacturer Talbert has launched a telescopic 55 US ton (50 metric ton) hydraulic removable gooseneck (HRG) trailer that can extend its deck length and operate with multiple rear axle configurations.

The HRG was designed with a telescopic deck capable of extending from 30 to 50 feet (9 to 15 m) long. Extended, the unit has a 27 ft (8 m) wood deck in the front and a 3 ft (1 m) wood platform in the rear with beams stretching between. The trailer expands and locks in 4 ft (1.3 m) increments. When extended, the telescopic trailer can be used for hauling tanks, bridge beams or bulky equipment.

The HRG has a 96 inch (2.4 m) swing radius and a gooseneck extension with a 120 inch (3 m) swing clearance and has a 20 inch (0.5 m) deck height.

The third and fourth axles can be flipped or removed and there is a 24 inch (0.6 m) pinned and hinged gooseneck extension that also can be flipped. This means that the trailer can be shortened to less than 53 ft (16 m) so there is no need to obtain an over-length permit when the trailer is running empty.
