Fassi launches heavy duty loader crane

Articulating loader crane manufacturer Fassi has a new articulating loader crane in the heavy duty range.

The new 88.6 tonne-metre rated F1050R.2-HXP Techno replaces the F990RA. It raises the bar in terms of performance and technology, Fassi said. Maximum vertical capacity is 15 per cent more than on the F990RA and horizontal lifting capacity is up by 6 %. Both these have been increased without increasing the weight of the structure.

Adding the L626 hydraulic jib increases reach by up to 40 % vertically and 90 % horizontally. The F1050R.2.9-L436 configuration adds a jib with six extensions to the crane which already has nine telescopic sections.

When operating with a winch there are permanent pulleys allowing the crane to be left reeved so it is quicker to set up for use after transport. The crane has a slew ring for continuous rotation and has a powerlink on the base boom.

X-Design

Fassi’s new X-Design uses a decagonal boom profile which helps increase capacity with and without jib, vertically and horizontally. Having ten sides is to optimise the distribution of stress between the guide and the crossbeam, Fassi said, “redefining the boundaries of structural efficiency.”

Combining X-Design with the use of ultra-high strength steel (UHSS) allows a stiffer and lighter structure. Vertical lifting capacity is increased approximately 30 % on models with the L626 or L436 hydraulic jibs.

The FX990 electronic control system smooths out movements, increases safety and offers customisation options. An ethernet connection is used to guarantee fast reliable data exchange. Working areas can be defined and there is the FSC Techno control system which adapts the stability of the crane to different operating conditions.

The outriggers can be operated from the remote control transmitter which comes as standard. Its Dynamic Maintenance Assistant helps the operator plan when it needs attention, helping to prevent unplanned breakdowns.
