Fleet expansion for Laso Transportes

A Euro 30 million investment plan will see the addition of cranes and transport equipment to modernise, expand and strengthen the Laso Transportes fleet.

Portugal-headquartered Laso said its new equipment will enhance its “technical and operational capacity to meet increasingly demanding projects in Portugal and abroad.”

Extensive expansion

It is a long list of new equipment, not just for transport but also for lifting. Mobile cranes, trucks with cranes, tractor units, rigid trucks with ramps and winches, plus modular heavy transporter will all join the fleet. For wind energy transport work there will be new super wing carriers and the world’s largest blade lifter, Laso said. A fleet of electric light vehicles is also being built up.

Infrastructure investment includes completion of new facilities in Spain’s Basque Country and expansion of Laso headquarters to a total area of 120,000 square metres. This development alone is several million euros. It aims to increase efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability.
