Franna launches FR19 US in North America
05 March 2025
The FR19 US has a capacity of 19 tons.
Australian pick and carry crane manufacturer Franna has launched a new North American model, the FR19 US. Building on the success of its AT24 US, the company said the FR19 US is part of Franna’s growth strategy in the U.S., offering an efficient and versatile crane designed to offer maximum power and performance in a compact form.

“Following the strong performance of the AT24 US, we are excited to introduce the FR19 US to the market,” said Andreas Ernst, general manager of Terex Material Handling & Lifting Americas. “This new model blends Franna’s trusted reliability with features tailored to the needs of North American customers, offering exceptional lifting capacity, efficient operation and the versatility required for challenging worksites.”
With a maximum lifting capacity of 19 tons at a 4 foot 11 inch radius, the crane has a 56 foot 3 inch maximum hook height. It is powered by a 121 horsepower, Tier 4F emission-compliant Cummins engine and a fully powershift transmission. Ernst said its compact design enables easy navigation through tight spaces, while the unique articulated steering system provides flexibility for precise maneuvering and placement of loads. Equipped with heavy-duty planetary drive axles and a high strength U-Section fabricated boom, the crane offers durability and longevity, he said.
The FR19 US is equipped with an ergonomically optimized cabin that offers safety, comfort and ease of use, the company said, and it provides easy access to all key maintenance points, while the ‘torque converter eliminates the need for a clutch pedal, reducing operator fatigue during long hours of operation. Additionally, the high seated position and single lift cylinder enhances the operator’s visibility, improving safety and precision when lifting loads.
To further support the FR19’s entry into the market, Franna has established a dedicated support team based in Wilmington, NC. This team provides service, spare parts, and technical support to customers across North America, offering Franna crane owners access to reliable, high-quality assistance whenever they need it, according to Ernst.
Franna is also growing its network of authorized distributors and service centers to provide comprehensive support to customers nationwide. This distributor network facilitates delivery, after-sales service, and timely availability of genuine Franna parts, the company said.
“We believe the Franna AT24 US offers distinct advantages over other pick and carry options in several applications,” said Jason MacKenzie, president of Select Cranes, with locations in New Jersey, Florida and Virginia. “To showcase its versatility, we decided to bring one in for demonstration purposes. Since its arrival, we’ve received positive feedback from customers and are now considering a larger investment in the Franna product by expanding our rental fleet with additional units.”
Ernst said Terex Franna is committed “to expanding our product offering to meet the growing demands of customers across the United States.
“This will continue with a further addition, the AT44 US, due to be launched later this year,” Ernst said. “We’re proud of our team’s hard work and excited to bring these innovations to market in the year ahead.”
The FR19 US will be demonstrated at distributor network events and at the Utility Expo in Louisville, KY, October 7-9, 2025.
