French open day celebrates new models
17 April 2008
At Cergy in France, Manitowoc Crane Group held an open day to commemorate the launch of its two latest all-terrain models – the GMK4100 and the GMK5275, (known as GMK4080-1 and GMK5220, respectively, outside the US).
At the open day, which was attended by customers, dealers, media and senior MCG management, the company also displayed other cranes, including two 60 ton GMK3055s and a self-erecting tower crane. The company demonstrated the compatibility of its product range by using a new Grove GMK5220 to erect a Potain MDT 178 flat top city crane.
Also on display at Cergy were the latest mobile crane accessories from Manitowoc Crane Care, including a reversing camera, and outrigger leveling support plates. The leveling support plates are made from composite material and work to optimize outrigger performance by acting as additional stabilizers. The all-terrain models on display were configured with different sized plates, ranging from 23.6 × 23.6 inches to 39.3 × 47.2 inches.
