Liebherr revamps K series cranes

The fast-erectors can now be ordered with Liebherr’s five intelligent assistance systems.

Liebherr has upgraded its K series of fast-erecting tower cranes, introducing intelligent assistance systems to enhance safety and efficiency on construction sites.

The latest models – 43 K, 61 K, 91 K and the updated 125 K – now have smart functions to enable sway-free load lifting and semi-automated operation, reducing risks associated with diagonal pulls and improving handling of sensitive components.

These enhancements are complemented by existing features such as variable hook heights and exceptional maneuverability in confined spaces.

The upgraded K series cranes have Liebherr’s new Control 5 system, comprising a control unit, the Liebherr Display 5 and I/O modules. The introduction of the Tower Crane Operating System 2 (TC OS 2) provides users with a standard intuitive interface with self-explanatory symbols and icons for ease of use. A universal radio control system has also been implemented across the current K and L series cranes, streamlining operations.

The 43 K offers eleven hook heights, reaching a maximum of 99 feet (30.2 meters) and a radius of up to 115 feet (35 meters). The 61 K reaches a hook height of up to 110 feet (33.4 meters) and a maximum radius of 141 feet (43 meters), with a new luffed position of up to 30 degrees for greater on-site flexibility. The 91 K is versatile for various projects, including multi-occupancy buildings and industrial tasks. The 125 K, the largest in the series, combines top slewing crane performance with fast-erecting crane mobility, achieving a maximum hook height of 136 feet (41.5 meters), a radius of up to 180 feet (55 meters), and a lifting capacity of 17,637 pounds (8 metric tons).
