Lift & Move USA takes part in SkillsUSA National Championships

03 July 2018

In June, Lift & Move USA exhibited at the SkillsUSA National Championships in Louisville, KY. Students competed in demonstrations of many skills critical to specialized transportation, crane and rigging operations. Among the skills contests were welding, technical computer applications, drafting, CNC operations and diesel equipment technology.

At the Lift & Move USA booth, students and career and technical educators tried their hand at crane operation using a VR simulator sponsored by Industrial Training International, rigging and knot tying tasks similar to those in the NCCCO certification exam with material sponsored by Equipment Training Solutions, and learned about a new DOL-approved Specialized Transportation & Rigging Apprenticeship available from Edwards Moving & Rigging.

Lift & Move USA works closely with SkillsUSA State Directors to invite students in various regions to upcoming Lift & Move USA-hosted events, including Oct. 11 in Portland, Ore., hosted by NessCampbell Crane & Rigging and Nov. 29 in Rockingham, N.C., hosted by Superior Cranes Inc.

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA provides educational programs, events and competitions that support career and technical education (CTE).
