Spain-based Linden Comansa has launched a flat top tower crane to complete its five-model LC 2100 series.

The 21 LC 660 will be ready to order in the third quarter of 2012. It includes features such as Linden Comansa's Effi-Plus hoist mechanism, which allows hoist speeds of up to 244 m (800 ft) per minute, as well as its PowerLift system.

Available in four versions, from 18 tonnes (39,680 lbs) to 48 tonnes (105,820 lbs) lifting capacity, the manufacturer said the 21 LC 660 will prove especially useful in public works, industrial construction, mining and infrastructure.

The 21 LC 660's design has been modified from the existng 21 LC 750, launched in 2009, with its first jib and counterjib sections assembled together directly over the slewing platform.

For the tower of the 21 LC 660, the new D35 mast section has been designed, which carries the same dimensions as the D36 tower section on the 21 LC 750. This makes them compatible and able to share the same hydraulic jacking cage.

The modular tower sections mean that the 21 LC 660 can reach a maximum freestanding height of 124.8 m (409 feet). The trolley-hook on the 21 LC 660 is also compatible with other LC 2100 cranes, added the manufacturer.
