Marsden adds new fleet flagship crane

Crane rental house Marsden Crane Services expanded its fleet upwards with a new flagship wheeled mobile telescopic crane from Liebherr.

The new 150 tonne capacity LTM 1150-5.3 is the UK company’s largest crane. It has a 66 metre telescopic boom in seven sections. Adding boom extensions increases the maximum hook height on this five axle model to 92 metres and gives a maximum lifting radius of 72 metres.

Commenting on his latest acquisition Lee Marsden, Marsden Crane Services managing director, said, “We’re absolutely delighted to add this new LTM 1150-5.3 to our fleet. The compactness and ‘as travels’ duties were key factors in our decision to buy the crane. We look forward to getting it out to work.”

On the road

In the UK under STGO regulations the crane can carry 29 tonnes of its maximum 46 tonnes of counterweight within the axle load restrictions. It means more jobs can be done with easier transport and fewer trucks, saving time and money.

One of the new crane’s first jobs was at the famous Blackpool Pleasure Beach in the north west of England, installing a new amusement ride.

Marsden Crane Services was set up by brothers Brendan, Dale and Lee Marsden in 2015. Before the latest acquisition it added its first LTC 1050-3.1 city crane, delivered in June 2025. In addition to other Liebherrs, the fleet includes mini crawler and spider cranes, and aluminium boom truck mounted cranes.
