Mayer takes over Demag AC 160-5

19 December 2017

Since December 2017, a Demag AC 160-5 all terrain crane has been added to the fleet of crane specialist Mayer Autokran-Vermietung from Burgberg in the German Allgäu region. The crane was handed over by Terex Senior Sales Manager Christian Kassner to Bettina Mayer-Bäuerlein, Controlling, who, together with crane operator Nicky Elsner, had travelled to Zweibrücken to collect it.

“We decided in favor of the Demag AC 160-5 because it is the best in its class which fulfils our wishes and requirements: It is short, narrow and maneuverable and, in spite of its compact size, combines a high lifting capacity with a long reach,” explained Erich Mayer, CEO, who also knows exactly how he wants to use the crane: “The AC 160-5 will be our new multi-purpose weapon for increased requirements in the local area – and especially on construction sites with shorter deployment times.”

It was for just such a construction site that the Demag AC 160-5 crane then set off directly after the handover in Zweibrücken. The destination: The production site of the foil manufacturer EK-Pack Folien GmbH in Ermengerst-Wiggensbach (Bavaria), where, as its first assignment, it was to lift a precast parts of 30-tons each.
