Manitowoc Crane Group has three new senior vice presidents of operations and a global product manager. Chuck Mogged will be responsible for the Americas; Denis François will be responsible for Europe, the Middle East and Africa; and Derek Oh, who will manage operations in Asia-Pacific. Each new SVP will report directly to their regional executive vice president: John Wheeler for The Americas; Philippe Cohet for EMEA; and Eric Etchart for Asia-Pacific.
Denis François will be in charge of defining and implementing a consistent manufacturing and engineering strategy for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He will also work closely with other regions to ensure the company continues to satisfy its customers and to improve economic performance. François and his team will provide overall direction and leadership for both manufacturing and engineering and will handle all aspects of product improvement, on-site safety and manufacturing excellence. With more than 25 years experience in senior management, mostly in the automotive sector, François has held a variety of roles, most recently as vice president of sourcing at corporate level for Faurecia. He is an engineering graduate from CESTI in France and has further qualifications from INSEAD, also in France. He speaks fluent French and English and will be based at the Manitowoc Crane Group EMEA headquarters in Ecully, France.
Derek Oh will provide direction and leadership for both manufacturing and engineering at the new facility in Zhangjiagang, China, as well as any other manufacturing facilities added to the region at a later date. Oh will be based at the Zhangjiagang plant and will also be a part of MCG's Global Engineering and Manufacturing Committee. Oh was previously general plant manager for a manufacturer of automotive chassis frames supplying Isuzu Thailand and General Motors in Bangkok. He has 27 years experience in operations management including inter-regional supply chain management in the automotive industry. Oh earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Westminster University in the UK.
Raman Joshi joins MCG as global product manager for the Manitowoc range of crawler cranes. Raman reports directly to Larry Bryce, vice president of worldwide marketing, and is responsible for global strategic direction for the complete Manitowoc product line. His duties include overseeing strategy, alliances, acquisitions, and financial performance, as well as tactical execution of business plans. Raman will be working closely with Manitowoc's sales, marketing, engineering, and manufacturing locations around the world, and will be an important figure in the branded crawler crane product lines. Raman brings more than 13 years of engineering, sales, and marketing experience to his new position. He most recently served as US sales and marketing manager for the NSK Corporation, a subsidiary of Japanese company NSK Ltd. Raman holds Bachelor of Science and Masters degrees in mechanical engineering. He also has an MBA from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and is fluent in Hindi, English, and Japanese.
