US contractor Miron Construction has its Manitowoc 14000 and Manitowoc 11000 crawler cranes working with a team of Grove all-terrain and rough-terrain cranes on the US$ 143 million upgrade of the Lambeau Field sports stadium, the home of the Green Bay Packers football team.

The project includes the installation of new scoreboards and placing modules for seating, escalators, elevators and more.

The Manitowoc 14000 is a 220 ton (200 tonne) capacity lattice boom crawler crane with patented CAN bus and EPIC control systems. It uses the FACT connection system for easy set-up and has a Vision cab for greater visibility and more ergonomic controls.

For the Lambeau Field job, it is configured with a 144 foot (44 metre) boom and 150 foot (46 m) luffing jib. The Manitowoc 11000 is a 100 ton (90 tonne) capacity crawler crane and is configured with a 170 foot (52 m) boom and 60 foot (18 m) jib.

The Grove rough and all terrains are being used to unload structural steel, drywall and other construction materials onto the job site, and to feed electronic components to the stadium's new scoreboard.

When finished in 2013, the revamped Lambeau Field will have 6,700 more seats, two new gates, a rooftop viewing platform, new escalators and elevators, two new HD video boards and a new sound system, among other new features.
