Mountain Crane promotes CFO to COO, appoints new finance chief

McAllister joins from BMW Bank of North America, where he served as treasurer, serving more than 20 years with BMW in finance and treasury roles. He holds an MBA from the University of Utah and is a certified public accountant and Certified Treasury Professional.

Paul Belcher, CEO of Mountain Crane Service, said, “His appointment represents an exciting moment for our business. It’s a sign of growth and maturation. As we take on new and challenging projects and expand our fleet and footprint across the country, Spencer’s financial leadership will help us scale with the discipline that built this company.”

Chafin was credited with guiding Mountain through a reorganisation that the company says positioned it as an industry leader. Belcher added, “We are delighted to have Josh take the reins as COO. This new responsibility reflects not just our confidence in him, but also our commitment to promoting internally and rewarding loyalty and success.”

Founded in 2004, Mountain Crane Service operates a fleet of more than 200 cranes from its Salt Lake City headquarters and six regional yards across seven western states. The company employs more than 500 people and serves the wind energy, industrial and general construction markets, along with heavy haul and transport.
