Italy-based spider lift manufacturer Palazzani Industrie has introduced a new high-capacity winch option for its XTJ 52+ spider lift. With a maximum lifting capacity of 980kg, the newly developed hydraulic winch offers an increase from the model’s standard 500kg capacity winch.

The option allows operators to replace the model’s 400kg basket with the winch to transform the model from a spider lift into a spider crane.

The upgraded winch, which comprises a hydraulic motor and a 51m rope cable with a diameter of 7mm, allows for greater flexibility on site.

The XTJ 52+, launched in 2014, has a maximum working height of 52m, an outreach of 19.5m and is equipped with a two-person basket.

According to Palazzani, the added winch functionality is assisted by the machine’s software, which automatically enters ‘crane mode’ upon the attachment of the winch, without adjustment from the operator.

Suitable for general maintenance, tree care and telecoms applications, operators can control the winch via the model’s standard remote control at ground level.

The winch is available with a quick coupling mechanism that allows operators to connect and disconnect the winch in just a few seconds.

This latest news from Palazzani comes as the company also confirms the delivery of a TSJ 39 bi-energy spider lift to a shopping and entertainment centre in Russia.

The self-propelled unit, which has a working height of 39m and a reach of 16.5m, is equipped with a diesel + AC engine and is powered by either a monophase or threephase electric motor.

Suitable for indoor and outdoor use, Palazzani’s articulate TSJ 39 was specially equipped with rubber tracks to avoid marking the shopping centre’s flooring.
