New Liebherr mobile crane for Schlamann-Autokrane

Crane rental house Schlamann-Autokrane in northern Germany has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 mobile crane. It is the first of four Liebherr cranes ordered for delivery this year.

The 230 tonne capacity wheeled mobile telescopic crane has a 75 metre telescopic boom. This is ideal for operations requiring extended hook heights, such as erection of electricity pylons.

“As part of the energy transition, work on erecting electricity pylons has increased and this trend is set to continue over the coming years. Thanks to its long telescopic boom, the LTM 1230-5.1 means we can avoid having to fit a lattice extension,” explained managing director Torsten Schlamann.

The crane’s high flexibility and performance help the company to carry out projects efficiently while reducing setup times.

Operator assistance

“Our operators are delighted with the new driver assistance systems, such as the blind spot information system,” said Katharina Schlamann.

Both Torsten and Katharina Schlamann travelled to Liebherr headquarters in Ehingen, Germany, for the handover of the new crane.

The order also includes a new LTM 1055-3.3. A key feature of this variant is its low axle loads which means some operations can be completed without the need for related permits.

The Schlamann-Autokrane business now comprises 23 mobile cranes, the largest of which is the LTM 1300-6.3. In total the company has about 300 cranes and machines available for rent.
