The Patimban Global Gateway Terminal (PGT) in Indonesia has installed a Liebherr LHM 550 mobile harbour crane at the deep-sea terminal.
The crane was supplied in a container-focused configuration to allow PGT to begin related operations while permanent quayside equipment is added across the new port location.
The crane will effectively work in a bridging role, transitioning from vessel calls to fully-developed terminal operations, with mobility being the key to this flexibility.
Configuration of the LHM 550 is said to support efficient cycles and stable handling across a wide range of vessel sizes.
The delivery process included early operator familiarisation and on-site support during commissioning. The extended warranty is backed by a local service provider.
Liebherr delivered the crane in only three months, together with an integrated package supporting operation from Day One.
“Projects like Patimban show how closely we work with customers to align equipment, delivery schedules and long-term support,’ said Andreas Ritschel, GM, Sales Mobile Harbour Cranes at Liebherr-Rostock.
“Our aim is to provide solutions that remain effective as terminals evolve.”
