The 66th IAA Commercial Vehicles exhibition - said to be the world’s leading trade fair for mobility, transport and logistics - will begin tomorrow until 29 September in Hanover, Germany.

Austria-based truck crane manufacturer Palfinger will be unveiling several new products including the latest heavy duty crane PK 165.002 TEC 7 as well as timber and recycling cranes. The company will have two trade fair stands and 26 installations to see.

The introduction of eight new crane models means that Palfinger now supplies a complete Solid (SLD) series from 5 to 12 tonnes. The new cranes have a greater lifting capacity than their predecessor models but with the same dead weight, the company said. At the show there will be these models on show:

  • PK 12.501 SLD 5
  • PK 9.501 SLD 5
  • PK 8.501 SLD 1
  • PK 7.501 SLD 5

Plus, the latest crane from the SLD series will be on show for the first time: the PK 18.001L SLD 3. Features include a lifting torque of 17.7 tonnes with a maximum hydraulic reach of 13.5 metres. The crane has an optimum loading height at close range as well as the maximum action radius with a 440 degree slewing angle. Palfinger also promises great visibility and “a high level of operator comfort on the new top seat” to ensure ideal working conditions on the crane.

With the new heavy duty crane PK 165.002 TEC 7, the company is launching a new crane series. Designed for carrier vehicles with a permissible total weight of 32 tonnes, the PK 165.002 TEC 7 sets the benchmark when it comes to weight savings, said Palifinger. The PK 165.002 TEC 7 combines strength with a large reach, yet it is 800 kilograms lighter than its predecessor, the PK 150.002.

You can see what Palfinger has to offer at its main stand in the outdoor exhibition area, K58.
