Palfinger has strengthened its balance sheet and boosted free cash flow in the first three quarters of 2025.

Loader crane manufacturer Palfinger said its financial performance for the first three quarters of 2025 was marked by strong free cash flow and a strengthened balance sheet.

It generated revenue of €1.68 billion, down 3.5 per cent on the €1.75 billion in the same period of 2024. The operating result (EBIT) was €130.7 million, down 17.6 % on the €158.7 million in the first three quarters of 2024. The consolidated net result was €72.4 million, down 20.3 % on the €90.8 million in Q1-3 a year earlier.

Free cash flow reached €54 million after three quarters, positioning the company to meet its full-year target of more than €100 million. Palfinger improved its equity ratio to 41.3 %, up from 35 % the previous year, reflecting a reduction in net financial debt to €577.2 million.

Regional performance saw a stable order intake in the EMEA region with softer demand in the USA following imposition of Section 232 tariffs. Latin America achieved record results driven by Brazil’s economic strength. Growth in Asia-Pacific continued, led by India, and Palfinger’s Marine business maintained high profitability amid favourable market conditions, the company said.

Looking ahead, Palfinger’s new Strategy 2030+ “Reach Higher” sets ambitious long-term financial goals: revenue exceeding €3 billion, an EBIT margin of 12 % and a return on capital employed of 15 %. Despite continued tariff impacts in the USA, increased European output is expected to offset earlier declines, positioning the company to close 2025 on a strong note, the company forecast.
