The new CTL 712-45 luffing jib crane combines a 70-metre (230-foot) jib, fast lifting speeds and intelligent control systems to support demanding high-rise and large-scale projects.
On the opening day of ConExpo in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, Terex Tower Cranes, now part of the Raimondi Group, introduced its new CTL 712-45 luffing jib crane, expanding its portfolio for high-rise and large-scale construction applications.
The new CTL 712-45 luffing jib crane combines a 70-metre (230-foot) jib, fast lifting speeds and intelligent control systems.
Designed to enhance performance, control and jobsite efficiency, the next-generation model features a 70 metre (230 foot) jib and delivers a tip load of 5.8 tonnes (6.4 U.S. tons). A 134 kW (approximately 180 hp) hoist winch enables a maximum lifting speed of 226 metres per minute (741 feet per minute) in single fall configuration, supporting fast cycle times on demanding projects.
Francesco Aiello, general manager of Terex Tower Cranes, said the CTL 712-45 was engineered to provide precise and responsive load handling throughout the operating cycle. Advanced control technologies are integrated to improve efficiency while maintaining safety and operational accuracy, reflecting the company’s focus on performance-driven innovation.
The crane can be erected on an HD23 mast, reaching a 63.4 metre (208 foot) tower height in standard configuration and achieving up to 131.2 metres (430 feet) under hook at maximum radius. Competitive freestanding height capabilities provide additional flexibility for dense urban jobsites and high-rise developments where space constraints are critical.
The new luffer has received enthusiastic early feedback from customers, the company said.
Fully electric, the CTL 712-45 is designed to deliver quiet, energy-efficient operation, reducing environmental impact and minimizing noise in urban environments. The crane has also been developed with full lifecycle efficiency in mind, incorporating optimized control systems and standardized pins and bolts to reduce tooling requirements. Smart assisted assembly solutions and simplified procedures are intended to shorten erection and dismantling times, helping contractors reduce on-site labor hours.
