San Marco unveils large self-erecting tower cranes

San Marco International unveiled two new self-erecting tower cranes at SAIE's October 2008 event in Bologna, Italy. The SM-45N and SM-45L will be distributed in the US through North American dealer Eagle West Equipment.

The self-erectors feature telescopic extending masts with up to four optional climbing sections, 147-foot (45 m) hydraulic unfolding jibs and electronic control systems that have radio remote control options and LMIs.

"The 45N crane is the first model in our new series and brings with it many special features, including telescopic elements, the ability to add elements from the base, as well as large dimensions that will provide the needed lifting power on expansive jobsites," explained Antonio Cerutti, San Marco International CEO.

The 45N has a 16 x 16 feet (4.9 x 4.9 m) footprint and a working weight of 60 US tons (54 tonnes). Lifting capacity is 6.6 tons (6 tonnes) at 51 feet (15.5 m). The smaller of the two new cranes, the 45L has the same 16 foot base but capacity is 6.6 tons at 45 feet (13.7 m). A smaller, 138 foot (42 m), jib version will also be produced.
