Sims Crane is working with various power companies throughout Florida in counties that were hit the hardest by Irma including Broward, Miami-Dade, Pinellas, Lee and Duval counties.

Dean Sims II, vice president of marketing for Sims Crane, said that the company reserved a block of cranes specifically for disaster relief and that they are being used primarily in power restoration, cell tower repair and replacement, and the clearing of downed trees and other debris.

“We prioritized our cranes for power and utility work to help get people’s homes up and running with electricity,” Sims said. “With millions of Floridians still without power, we want to make our cranes available for this massive power restoration effort.”
