Sönke Jordt strengthens fleet with Grove GMK4080L taxi crane
11 September 2025
German crane rental company Sönke Jordt has taken delivery of a new Grove GMK4080L all terrain crane, strengthening its fleet with a versatile 80 tonne capacity taxi crane.

The four-axle unit was handed over at the company’s headquarters in Ratekau, Schleswig-Holstein, directly from Manitowoc’s mobile crane plant in Wilhelmshaven. It joins a fleet of 13 other mobile cranes ranging from 30 to 300 tonnes, plus three large knuckle boom cranes.
The GMK4080L has a 60 metre main boom, the longest in its class, and an 8.7 to 15 metre bi-fold swingaway jib for added reach. Thanks to its efficient counterweight packages, it delivers high load capacities even in taxi crane configurations. With a transport width of just 2.55 metres, the compact crane is designed for sites with limited space, and can travel with up to 13.3 tonnes of counterweight at a 12 tonne axle load or 5.2 tonnes for 10 tonne per axle operation.
Sönke Jordt’s new Grove is expected to work across industrial, construction and infrastructure projects throughout northern Germany.
