SMS Autokrane extends fleet with new Grove GMK4080L

German crane rental company SMS Autokrane, which has its headquarters in Michelstadt, has added a new Grove GMK4080L to its fleet. The mobile crane is manufactured by Manitowoc.

Equipped with a Megaform boom measuring 60 metres, the 48,000 kg, four-axle model has a lifting capacity of 80 tonnes.

The crane has a maximum 16.5 tonne axle load, legal in the UK, which supports a maximum 19 tonnes of counterweight.

Power comes from a 200 kW six-cylinder Mercedes-Benz OM470LA turbodiesel engine.

With an overall width of 2,550 mm, the Grove GMK4080L is more manoeuvrable on smaller sites.

Primary features of the crane include Manitowoc’s Maxbase system which supports asymmetric outrigger positioning. This improves flexibility, while increasing lift capacity across various working setups.
