Sàez Cranes is expanding into the North American market with a sales office and spare parts facility. The Spanish tower crane manufacturer is looking for locations in Houston, TX, where it will establish a spare parts supply, aiming to provide parts to US and Canadian customers within 24 hours.

“It can be a little difficult if the parts come from Spain because it takes a couple of days and they can be blocked at the border,” said Juan Ballester, who is setting up the US division.

Ballester said he would be happy if the company sold 25 cranes in the US during the first 12 months. He is looking for a sales staff to promote the Sàez Cranes brand, along with a qualified technician to back up the spare parts service.

“We are setting up here because the market in Spain is slowing, so we need to sell more cranes in other markets. The US and Canada are two of our main targets.” Ballester explained.

While Ballester acknowledged that residential construction was slowing in the US, he said public works were still providing steady work for tower cranes and that would remain true for some years.

In other parts of the world, the manufacturer has a distributor in Dubai and is opening offices in Poland, added Ballester.
