Sterling Lumber introduces outrigger mat

29 June 2011

Sterling Lumber in the USA has introduced the C-Channel series of outrigger mat. The mats are designed to increase job site safety, maximize the useable square footage of a crane mat and provide the utmost in mat strength and longevity. Recommended for maximum load capacity mobile crane protection, the steel reinforced mats prevent shifting and tipping without sacrificing space at the job site, Sterling said.

The mixed hardwood mats are completely framed with welded C-channel steel, bolted together with 1-1/2 inch (38 mm) diameter timber bolts and have a load-bearing steel plate. Heavy-duty handles are welded to the outrigger mat's steel framework for on-site positioning. Sizes are built to customers' specifications and can be manufactured quickly and shipped direct to customers anywhere in the world, the company said.

Sterling Lumber Company is headquartered in Blue Island, Illinois and manufactures a full line of crane mats and industrial lumber products.
