The Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 offers a max capacity of 550 tons and max radius of 335 feet.

Superior Rigging & Erecting has purchased its newest and largest crane to date, the Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1. The 550-ton all-terrain crane arrived at Superior’s yard early September 2023 and adds significant lifting power and reach to their already expansive fleet.

The Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 offers a max capacity of 550 tons and max radius of 335 feet. The 8-axle crane has a telescopic boom of 279 feet, but can quickly be assembled to reach its max hoist height of 433 feet. This crane can travel on public roads with its fast-erecting telescopic boom, four outriggers and the hoist winch, totaling 211,560 pounds and 26,450 pounds per axle, with an 8-axle load.

A Liebherr LTM 1160-5.2 190 ton all-terrain crane also arrived at Superior Rigging & Erecting’s yard in July 2023. The crane was the second of several large mobile cranes Superior is adding to their fleet this year.

The Liebherr LTM 1160-5.2 provides a max capacity of 190 tons and a main boom of 203 feet.

The Liebherr LTM 1160-5.2 provides a max capacity of 190 tons and a main boom of 203 feet. The 5-axle crane offers various boom configurations that provide a max hoist height of 325 feet. With a max radius of 256 feet, this all terrain crane manages high lifting loads without compromising its reach. By utilizing mechanically operated slewing ballasting cylinders, the ballast radius can be rapidly adjusted between two distinct configurations.

This crane is great for lifting and setting critical data center equipment like switchgear, compressors, PDU’s, air handling units and more, the company said. It’s also great for cell tower work, new construction sites and steel erection projects due to its many configurations and ability to travel on both roads and rough terrain.

Superior also added a Tadano ATF 100-4.1 to their fleet in May 2023.

Superior will have two more cranes, a Linkbelt HTC-86100 100-ton and a Linkbelt 120-HTLB 120-ton, arriving in Fall 2023.
