17 April 2008
Japan: Tadano Ltd in Japan has reported a strong overall rise in sales for the first three quarters (April 1 through December 31) of its 2005 fiscal year.
Total sales for the period were ¥(Yen) 86 billion ($734 million), an 18% rise compared with the same period in 2004. Net income was up by 51%, due to higher sales, by ¥4 billion ($34 million).
In its domestic market, crane sales rose to ¥54 billion ($461 million), up 7% compared with the previous year. Tadano attributed the rise to customer fleet renewal. Overseas, sales rose 42% to ¥32 billion ($279 million) due mainly to a substantial increase in sales of cranes to Europe and North America.
The company, which said that figures for its fiscal year (April 1, 2005 through March 31, 2006), will surpass those of the previous year, forecasts sales of ¥116 billion ($991 million), operating income of ¥8 billion ($68 million) and net income of ¥5 billion ($42 million).
