Taylor Crane & Rigging plans to beef up its transportation business with the purchase of a new Scheuerle Kamag K25 transport system, it was revealed at the TII Stand at Bauma.

“We kicked a lot of tires and decided to go with the Scheuerle Kamag 10-foot wide off-highway system with deck spacers and self-propelled modular transporter (SPMT),” said Jim Taylor, Jr., president of the company that is based in Coffeyville, KS, USA. “We think this will help us become more competitive with the transport side of the business.”

With this new transport system, Taylor says his company can now perform the lifting, rigging and transportation work throughout the United States and not have to contract out the transportation portion of the work.

With delivery expected by late summer, Taylor is excited that he will be able to break into new markets with the purchase.

“There’s a strong market for transformers in the Midwestern part of the country,” he said. “This system will offer the flexibility we need for the 250-ton and heavier transformers and other power plant equipment.”
