Terex shows its new Crossover 4500 at ICUEE

Terex Cranes is exhibiting two boom trucks at ICUEE October 4-6 in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. Terex will unveil the new Terex Crossover 4500, a 45-ton (41 tonne) capacity class boom truck, as well as the Terex Crossover 6000, which was launched at the ConExpo exhibition earlier this year.

The new Terex Crossover 4500 offers features and benefits that combine low cost of operation with quality and value, the company said.

The Crossover has a 105-foot (32 m), four-section boom with optional 39 to 49 foot (11.9 to 14.9 m) lattice jib extensions. The Crossover 4500 lifts up to 45 tons (40.8 tonnes) at a 9-foot (2.7 m) radius. Maximum main boom tip height is 110 feet (33.5 m) for a maximum sheave height of 155 feet (47.2 m) with a 49-foot (14.9 m) jib. The X-pattern outrigger design allows for the center of gravity to be repositioned to reduce stress on the chassis, for increased longevity.

Precision and ease of operation are enhanced through a joystick controlling hoist, swing and boom elevation, a pedal operating swing brake and boom telescoping, and hand and pedal controls for engine RPM management. A rated capacity limiter with pictographic display and settable alarms offers simple work area definition.

Configurable for road transport in all 50 US states, the Terex Crossover 6000 boom truck offers a 110 foot (33.5 m) maximum boom length and 170 foot (51.6 m) maximum system length. With excellent lifting performance across all configurations at all lifting radii, the Terex Crossover 6000 boom truck provides efficient, reliable service for long hours on the jobsite, Terex said. Its lifting capacity is 60 tons (54 tonnes).
