Turner Bros take delivery of Liebherr LTR 11200

13 August 2010

Turner Bros., LLC took delivery of North America's first Liebherr LTR 11200 recently. The telescopic crawler crane is designed primarily for use in wind turbine erection and industrial heavy lifting.

The LTR 11200 is a crawler version of the LTM 11200/9.1 and it incorporates a telescopic boom on a narrow track crawler chassis. Liebherr adopted the telescopic boom, Y-suspension, lattice fly jibs and slewing platform from the mobile version.

The crawler track is less than 16-feet wide, which the company said allows it to move fully erect through narrow roads that lead to wind farms or into confined industrial settings.

The LTR 112000 has a maximum lifting capacity of 1,322 tons at an 8-foot radius and the telescopic boom can reach from 60 to 328 feet and with a lattice jib 79 to 413 feet while the crane is stabilized by a 42-foot by 42-foot outrigger base.

Turner Bros has both the mobile and crawler versions of this crane model.
