Transportation company KCTC, of behalf of client Samkang S&C, used Cometto self propelled modular transporter (SPMT) to load out and move six large components of a new FPSO (floating production storage and offloading) vessel under construction in Korea.

The project involved components weighing a total of 70,306 tonnes which were divided, transported and then welded together on a floating dock.

The final ship unit has a main deck length of 340 metres with a width of 64 metres and a height of 31.5 metres.

The SPMT was combined in different configurations to move the six blocks, from 288 to 360 axle lines per job. The Cometto MSPE EVO2 vehicles were sourced from Global, Daemyung and Anjeon.
