Watco Logistics grows national footprint with Colossal Transport deal

Watco Logistics, the logistics arm of Pittsburg, Kansas, USA-based Watco, has acquired Colossal Transport Solutions, a Spring, Texas, USA-based provider of over-dimensional and heavy-haul cargo logistics. The deal, announced Tuesday (2 September), strengthens Watco’s multimodal project cargo capabilities and extends its national footprint.

Financial terms were not disclosed. Colossal Transport employs about 24 people, most of whom are based at the company’s Texas headquarters. Watco will lease the facility and retain the staff, while some remote employees continue operating from other states.

Founded by Bill Taylor and Nestor Bernabe, Colossal Transport specializes in engineered transportation for complex cargo moves. Services include route planning, 3D modeling to avoid route obstructions, GPS monitoring, securement, rigging operations and last-mile delivery coordination. The company’s experience spans rail, road, barge and ocean freight, providing end-to-end project management for industrial-sized heavy lifts.
