WireCo unveils new Lazerlift hoist rope

WireCo introduced its latest hoist rope, Casar Lazerlift, for large telescopic cranes, crawler cranes and high-capacity tower cranes. Lazerlift is engineered to meet the increasing demands of modern lifting applications.

WireCo introduced its newest hoist rope, CASAR Lazerlift, during the Bauma trade show.

The rope was developed to address the growing need for higher durability and strength in rotation-resistant hoist ropes, particularly in industries like wind energy, where lifting heights and loads continue to grow.

“The Lazerlift hoist rope represents our latest breakthrough in rope design, and one that we expect will follow in the footsteps of our other well-known crane ropes,” said Johannes Weirich, WireCo’s chief engineer for crane ropes. “We have met crane operator needs with a rope that has superior spooling behavior along with a superior MBF (minimum breaking force).”

Tested both in the lab and in real-world crane operations, Lazerlift is built to withstand extreme radial stress and maintain high breaking strength over time. The company says this results in a longer service life and reduced maintenance needs for crane operators.

“As wind turbines grow taller and lifting demands intensify, so do the pressures on hoist ropes,” said David Rowatt, PhD, PE, WireCo SVP global, steel engineering. “Lazerlift is designed to tackle these challenges head-on, offering exceptional strength, longevity, and resilience. With its advanced engineering, Lazerlift minimizes downtime and maintenance, ensuring operators stay ahead in a competitive industry.”

In addition to Lazerlift, WireCo showed other new rope products at Bauma, including Boomfit, designed for boom rope applications, and Durascend, targeted at tower crane use.
