TopLift 2006 was, as ever, a popular feature with readers as votes for the 10 lifting jobs poured in from around the world. Voting by e-mail proved, once again, to be the most popular way of casting a vote, although traditional postal and faxed forms were still received in abundance.

Once again it was a Europe-based company that completed the winning lift. Sarens, of Belgium, was part of a joint venture that won TopLift in 2005 but won it as a single company this year.

There was a tie for the runner up places between Prangl of Austria and Netherlands-based Mammoet, making a European top three. As a result of this tie, TopLift 2006 has joint Runners Up rather than the First and Second runner up places.
