Lampson International has refurbished a 24-year-old Manitowoc 2250 crawler crane in partnership with Manitowoc’s EnCORE program.

Lampson International has completed a comprehensive rebuild of one of its Manitowoc 2250 crawler cranes at its Pasco, Washington, USA headquarters, working in partnership with Manitowoc’s EnCORE team. The refurbished 24-year-old crane is now back in Lampson’s rental fleet and ready to support future bare-rental projects.
The overhaul brought the crane back to original specifications with several modern enhancements. Lampson’s team disassembled the crane, conducted magnetic particle inspections, sandblasted key components, and rebuilt vital systems including pumps, motors, and drives. Key upgrades include a Tier 2-compliant engine, new hydraulic plumbing and an overhauled electrical system featuring ten updated control boards.
The rotating bed received new bearings, seals, shim packs and rebuilt planetary drives, while the carbody was fitted with a new swing bearing, rebuilt motors and refreshed plumbing. The cab was rebuilt and outfitted with a new computer board, and the Load Moment Indicator (LMI) system was also brought up to current standards.
“Compliance with Manitowoc factory standards was paramount throughout the process,” said Bruce Stemp, director of quality assurance, Lampson. “By combining our decades of in-house expertise with Manitowoc’s industry-leading EnCORE program, we’ve transformed a reliable workhorse into a modern, efficient machine ready to tackle the most demanding projects.”
