A transport specialist in the Philippines had some specific equipment requirements met by manufacturer Faymonville to move rough terrain cranes.

Company Geo Transport and Construction from Cebu in the Philippines had a clear concept for a truck and trailer combination to haul the large-wheeled cranes typically with long boom overhangs. Geo wanted to transport its 145 tonne capacity Tadano GR1450-EX rough terrain. As one of the largest models of its type it weighs around 80 tonnes without the counterweight slabs.

A special version of an 8 x 4 MAN truck and a 4-axle MegaMax low bed trailer from Faymonville was the chosen combination. Geo wanted maximum manoeuvrability in the narrow streets of cities in the Philippines. Specific technical requirements were defined, including 19.5 inch (500 mm) pendular axles, each with a technical axle load of 16.5 tonnes and a 60 degree steering angle.

Also specified was an hydraulic detachable gooseneck to allow continuous height adjustment and a maximum of flexibility when loading and unloading construction machinery.
