Kees Kompier joins Felbermayr to head up the new engineered lifting and transport service

An engineering service for heavy lifting and transport solutions has been launched by Felbermayr.

The Austrian crane rental and specialized transport company has a large fleet of equipment, including heavy lift cranes and SPMT. The new in-house engineering service operation is headed by Kees Kompier, a new member of the Felbermayr team. The Dutchman has extensive experience with technical solutions in the industry.

Commenting on his new role, Kompier said, “My goal is to combine the knowledge of the Felbermayr employees and the existing heavy duty equipment to expand the possible uses.”

He said this can be achieved through creativity and the expansion of technical know-how. An example was the recent project in Bratislava to install a 2,400 tonne bridge structure. “Back then, I still had the contract as a subcontractor for Felbermayr, carried out because Felbermayr lacked know-how to calculate the load distribution on the pontoons.”

With the broadening of this type of knowledge in the company, Felbermayr can offer existing customers a larger service package. “Ultimately, the clients also benefit from this through a reduction in the number of contacts and more efficiency in order processing,” Kompier continued.
